What to expect at your first chiropractic visit
Here is what happens at your first visit, in order.
What happens at a first chiropractic visit?
At your first visit you talk through your history, have an exam, and get digital X-rays on site if they are needed. If it is safe, you get your first adjustment, and we explain what we found and what comes next. Allow a little extra time for forms.
Step by step
Check in
Arrive a few minutes early to fill in a short health form. Wear comfortable clothes you can move in.
Consult
We ask where it hurts, when it started, what makes it better or worse and what you want to be able to do again.
Exam
We check posture, movement, reflexes, strength, and areas of tension. This is how we find the likely cause.
X-ray if it helps
Digital X-rays happen on site when your exam suggests they will help. We explain why first.
First adjustment
If it is safe, you get your first adjustment. We use gentle techniques, and you can tell us what feels comfortable.
Your next steps
We explain what we found, what we recommend and what to do at home.
What to bring
- A list of medicines you take
- Any recent X-rays, MRI results or accident reports
- Questions you want answered
Is it safe?
For most people, yes. We review your history first and do not adjust areas that are unsafe for you. If your exam shows you need a doctor, we tell you and refer you.

Common questions
Do chiropractors take X-rays?
Many do, when the exam suggests they will help. We have digital X-ray on site, so it happens during your visit.
Will I be adjusted at the first visit?
Usually, if it is safe. If your exam shows you need a doctor first, we refer you instead.
How much does it cost?
The New Patient Special is $49 for the consult, exam, and first adjustment. After that, prices are clear and upfront.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes. A family member or friend is welcome.
Does it hurt?
Most people feel pressure or a stretch. Tell us if anything is uncomfortable and we change what we do.
