Neck pain and stiffness care in Round Rock
Gentle, drug-free care for neck pain from desk work, sleeping wrong, phone use or a car accident.

Can a chiropractor help with neck pain?
Many people with neck pain and stiffness find that chiropractic care helps, especially when it is combined with exercise. At Lakeside Spine & Wellness in Round Rock we check your neck, shoulders and posture, use gentle techniques where they suit you, and explain clearly what we found and what comes next.
Common causes of neck pain
Neck pain often builds from everyday habits. Hours looking down at a phone or laptop, a pillow that does not suit you, carrying a bag on one shoulder and old injuries can all play a part. Sudden pain after a car accident or fall is different and needs a prompt check.
- Stiffness that makes it hard to turn your head while driving
- An ache across the neck and tops of the shoulders
- Headaches that start at the base of the skull
- Tingling or tightness that spreads toward the shoulder blade
How we approach neck pain
We look at how your neck moves, how your head sits over your shoulders and how your upper back is working. If your history or exam suggests it, we take digital X-rays on site. Then we choose techniques with you. Many people prefer gentle methods, and you can ask for that at any time.
Care usually adds gentle movement and strengthening exercises, plus changes to your desk, pillow, and screen height. Those habits matter as much as the visit.
What the research says
Cochrane reviews of manipulation and mobilisation for neck pain found strong evidence that combining them with exercise helped people with ongoing neck pain more than waiting did, and only low-quality evidence of short-term pain reduction from manipulation alone. Results differ from person to person. The NHS notes that chiropractic care may not be safe if you take blood thinners, are at higher risk of stroke or bleeding, have severely weakened bones, or have a nerve condition. We ask about these before we treat.
Get urgent medical care first if you have any of these
Do not wait for a chiropractic visit if you notice:
- Sudden, severe headache, or neck stiffness with a fever
- Trouble speaking, face drooping, vision changes or sudden weakness on one side
- Chest pain, shortness of breath or jaw pain along with neck or arm pain
- Arm weakness or numbness that is spreading or getting worse
- Neck pain after a serious accident or fall

Common questions
Is it safe to have my neck adjusted?
It can be, but not for everyone. The NHS says chiropractic care may not be safe if you take blood thinners, are at higher risk of stroke or bleeding, have severely weakened bones, or have a nerve condition. We ask about these first. If any apply, we use a different approach or send you to a doctor.
Why does my neck hurt after working at a computer?
Holding the head forward for long stretches loads the muscles and joints at the back of the neck. Raising your screen to eye level, keeping your feet flat and taking short movement breaks usually help.
Can you help whiplash after a car accident?
Yes, once you have been cleared for emergencies. See our page on car accident care for what to do first.
How soon can I be seen?
We keep same-week appointments open for new patients with neck pain. Book online or call and we will find a time.
